Saint Cecilia (EP)

Saint Cecilia is an extended play (EP) by the American rock band Foo Fighters, released as a free digital download on November 23, 2015. The EP was dedicated to the victims of the November 2015 Paris attacks.

The EP was recorded in Austin, Texas, at the Hotel Saint Cecilia, a boutique hotel. The sessions were originally intended to be a celebration of the band's extensive Sonic Highways tour. However, in the wake of the Paris attacks, the band decided to dedicate the music to the victims, seeing it as a way to share their love and hope during a difficult time.

The Saint Cecilia EP comprises five tracks: "Saint Cecilia," "Sean," "Savior Breath," "Iron Rooster," and a cover of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America." The songs feature a raw and energetic sound, reflecting the spontaneous and collaborative nature of the recording sessions.

The release of Saint Cecilia was accompanied by a letter from frontman Dave Grohl, explaining the origins of the EP and its dedication. The band encouraged listeners to make charitable donations to support victims of the Paris attacks. While the EP was initially offered as a free download, it was later made available on streaming services and as a limited-edition vinyl release.
