Kärrtorp

Kärrtorp is a residential district in the Skarpnäck borough of Stockholm, Sweden. Construction of Kärrtorp began in 1951 as part of the post-World War II expansion of Stockholm's suburbs. The area is characterized by multi-family apartment buildings, primarily designed in the functionalist style, and green spaces. Kärrtorp is well-connected to central Stockholm via the Stockholm Metro (Tunnelbana) on the Green Line.

Notable features of Kärrtorp include its central square, Kärrtorpsplan, which houses local shops, restaurants, and public services. The district also features several parks and green areas, providing recreational opportunities for residents.

In recent years, Kärrtorp has become known for its history of activism, particularly against far-right extremism. In December 2013, a peaceful anti-racist demonstration in Kärrtorp was attacked by a group of neo-Nazis, resulting in widespread media coverage and increased awareness of anti-racist movements in Sweden.
