Sé (Funchal)

The Sé Cathedral of Funchal, often simply referred to as "Sé," is the primary Roman Catholic cathedral of Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. Construction began in 1493 and concluded in 1514, making it one of the oldest structures on the island.

The cathedral is a notable example of Manueline architecture, a distinctive Portuguese style prevalent during the Age of Discovery, characterized by its maritime motifs and elaborate ornamentation. It features a simple but impressive facade of volcanic stone, reflecting the regional geology.
