Roberto Jiménez (footballer, born 1986)

Roberto Jiménez Gago (born 10 February 1986), known simply as Roberto, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper.

He began his career with Atlético Madrid, progressing through their youth ranks. He featured sporadically for the first team before embarking on loan spells at Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Recreativo de Huelva.

Roberto's career includes stints with various clubs across Europe, including Benfica (Portugal), Real Zaragoza (Spain), Olympiacos (Greece), Espanyol (Spain), Málaga CF (Spain), and West Ham United (England). He often served as a backup goalkeeper throughout his career, occasionally securing starting roles depending on the club.

He has also represented Spain at the youth international level. While a talented shot-stopper, his club career has been characterized by frequent moves and limited consistent playing time at the highest level. His strengths include reflexes and shot-stopping ability.
