Hillstar (horse)
Hillstar was a South African-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who achieved international success, primarily known for his performances in Hong Kong. He was trained by Tony Millard.
Hillstar began his racing career in South Africa, showing promise as a young horse. However, it was his relocation to Hong Kong that marked a significant turning point. He quickly adapted to the racing conditions there, displaying both speed and stamina.
One of Hillstar's most notable victories came in the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup at Sha Tin Racecourse. This prestigious Group 1 race showcased his ability to compete against top-class international competition. Other significant races he participated in included the Hong Kong Cup and other major Hong Kong races.
Throughout his racing career, Hillstar was known for his versatility, being able to perform well on different track conditions and over varying distances. He was ridden by prominent jockeys and was a popular horse among racing fans in Hong Kong.
His racing career concluded after a period of declining form. Upon retirement, Hillstar entered stud.
