Robert W. Hamilton (law professor)

Robert W. Hamilton (1931-2011) was a distinguished American legal scholar specializing in corporate law. He was a professor at the University of Texas School of Law for over 40 years, joining the faculty in 1964 and retiring in 2005. He was renowned for his expertise in business organizations, securities regulation, and corporate governance.

Hamilton was the author of several influential works, including "Corporations Including Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies: Cases and Materials" and "The Law of Corporations in a Nutshell," both widely used textbooks in law schools across the United States. His scholarship significantly contributed to the understanding and development of corporate law.

In addition to his teaching and writing, Hamilton served as a consultant to numerous corporations and government agencies.
