Mike Rudd
Michael "Mike" Rudd (born July 15, 1955) is an Australian musician, composer, and actor. He is best known as a founding member and primary songwriter of the influential progressive rock band Spectrum (originally known as Indelible Murtceps), and later for his work with Ariel, another prominent Australian band.
Rudd's musical career began in the late 1960s. Spectrum, formed in 1969, achieved significant success in the early 1970s with their distinctive sound and extended instrumental improvisations. Their hit song "I'll Be Gone" remains a classic of Australian rock music.
After Spectrum's breakup in 1973, Rudd formed Ariel, which explored a wider range of musical styles, including pop and art rock. Ariel released several albums and toured extensively.
Following Ariel's disbandment, Rudd pursued a solo career, releasing albums and performing live. He has also worked as a composer for film and television. In addition to his musical pursuits, Rudd has appeared in various acting roles in film and theatre productions. He continues to perform and record music.
