Robert John Pinsent (judge)

Robert John Pinsent (born 1953) is a retired Canadian judge who served on the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal.

Pinsent received his Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 1976 and was admitted to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar that same year. He practiced law with the firm of O'Dea Earle before being appointed to the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, Trial Division in 2003.

In 2012, Pinsent was elevated to the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal. He served on the Court of Appeal until his retirement in 2023.

Throughout his career, Justice Pinsent was involved in various legal and community organizations. His judgments contributed to the jurisprudence of Newfoundland and Labrador, and he was respected for his legal expertise and commitment to justice.
