Reef (band)

Reef are an English rock band from Glastonbury, Somerset, England. They formed in 1993 and are best known for their 1996 single "Place Your Hands."

History:

The band's original lineup consisted of Gary Stringer (vocals), Jesse Wood (guitar - later replaced by Kenwyn House), Jack Bessant (bass), and Dominic Greensmith (drums). They gained popularity in the mid-1990s Britpop era, though their sound leaned more towards hard rock and a blues-influenced style.

Reef signed to Sony Records and released their debut album, Replenish, in 1995. It was a commercial success, reaching the top 10 in the UK Albums Chart. Their second album, Glow, released in 1997, achieved even greater success, reaching number one in the UK. This album contained their most famous single, "Place Your Hands," which remains a staple of rock radio.

They released several subsequent albums, including Rides (1999), Getaway (2000), and Together (2003). After a period of inactivity, the band reformed in 2010. Kenwyn House left the band in 2014 and was replaced by Jesse Wood, returning to the band after a long absence.

In 2018, Reef released their first album in 15 years, titled Revelation. They followed this with Shoot Me Your Ace in 2022. The band continues to tour and perform live.
