Raabta is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language romantic action film directed by Dinesh Vijan in his directorial debut. The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, with Jim Sarbh playing the primary antagonist.

Plot:

The film explores the concept of reincarnation and tells a story of two lovers, Shiv (Sushant Singh Rajput) and Saira (Kriti Sanon), who are drawn to each other in the present day. However, their connection is more profound than they realize, as it is revealed they were lovers in a past life, where they faced betrayal and tragedy at the hands of a cruel warrior, Kaabir (Jim Sarbh). The present-day story intertwines with flashbacks to their past lives, depicting the intense love and devastating circumstances that ultimately led to their separation. As Shiv and Saira navigate their feelings and the looming threat of Kaabir, they must confront their past and fight for their love.

The film faced a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by the makers of the 2009 Telugu film Magadheera, who alleged that Raabta plagiarized key elements of their film's story. The court eventually ruled in favor of Raabta, allowing its release.
