Fuel (band)

Fuel is an American rock band formed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1989. The band is known for its post-grunge sound and mainstream success in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

History:

Fuel was initially formed by guitarist/songwriter Carl Bell and bassist Jeff Abercrombie. Singer Brett Scallions joined the band shortly after, solidifying the core lineup. The band went through several drummers early on before settling with Kevin Miller.

Fuel released several EPs independently before signing with Sony's 550 Music label. Their debut album, Sunburn, was released in 1998 and featured the hit singles "Shimmer" and "Bittersweet Sign." The album achieved platinum status.

Their follow-up album, Something Like Human, released in 2000, was even more successful, reaching double-platinum status and spawning the hit singles "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" and "Innocent."

In 2003, Fuel released Natural Selection, which saw some lineup changes, with Tommy Stewart replacing Kevin Miller on drums. While commercially successful, it did not achieve the same level of success as its predecessors.

In 2006, Brett Scallions left the band to pursue other projects. Fuel went on hiatus for several years.

In 2010, Carl Bell announced that he was reforming Fuel with a new lineup, featuring Toryn Green on vocals. They released the album Puppet Strings in 2014.

In 2021, Brett Scallions rejoined the band, marking a reunion of the classic lineup. Fuel continues to tour and perform.
