HMS Prince of Orange (1734)
HMS Prince of Orange was a 70-gun third-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched in 1734. She was built at Deptford Dockyard according to the 1733 proposals of the 1719 Establishment, a set of standardized dimensions for ships of various rates.
Her career primarily involved service in European waters, participating in naval operations during the War of the Austrian Succession and the Seven Years' War. She was part of various squadrons engaged in patrolling, convoy escort duties, and blockades.
Specific details of her engagements and notable voyages are somewhat limited in surviving historical records. However, as a third-rate ship of the line, she would have played a crucial role in maintaining British naval power and projecting force in the Atlantic and European theaters.
The Prince of Orange was eventually sold out of the navy in 1768.
