Róża Thun
Róża Thun, born Róża Maria Gräfin von Thun und Hohenstein on April 13, 1954, is a Polish politician.
She is a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), representing Poland. Thun has served in the European Parliament since 2009. She was originally elected as a member of the Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska) party, part of the European People's Party (EPP) group in the European Parliament. She later left Civic Platform.
Thun is known for her advocacy on issues related to the digital single market, consumer protection, and internal market policies within the European Union. She has been actively involved in discussions and legislation concerning copyright, e-commerce, and the modernization of EU legislation to adapt to the digital age.
Prior to her career in European politics, Thun was involved in Polish civil society, particularly through her work with the Polish Robert Schuman Foundation, which promotes European integration. She also played a significant role in the pro-democracy movement in Poland before the fall of communism.
