Prevala

Prevala is a town and municipality located in the Koroška Statistical Region of northern Slovenia, near the Austrian border. It is situated in the Meža Valley, known for its industrial history, particularly lead and zinc mining.

The municipality is relatively small, characterized by dispersed settlements and a rural landscape. The economy of Prevala has historically been tied to industry, but in recent years has been diversifying into tourism and small businesses.

Prevala became a municipality in 1994, following the reorganization of local government in Slovenia.
