Shykhly

Shykhly is a village in the Gobustan District of Azerbaijan. It is located approximately 10 kilometers southwest of the city of Gobustan. The village is situated in a semi-desert landscape and is known for its historical significance and proximity to mud volcanoes. Shykhly has a population primarily engaged in agriculture and livestock breeding. While not a major tourist destination, the village provides a glimpse into traditional rural life in Azerbaijan and serves as a point of access for exploring the surrounding natural attractions, including the Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve, which features ancient rock carvings (petroglyphs). The area around Shykhly experiences a semi-arid climate with hot summers and mild winters.
