Jyotisar

Jyotisar is a significant historical and religious site located in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana, India. It is widely believed to be the place where Lord Krishna delivered the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna during the Mahabharata war. The name "Jyotisar" translates to "essence of light" or "the sea of light," reflecting the illumination of divine knowledge imparted at this location.

The site is characterized by a large banyan tree (said to be a descendant of the original tree under which Krishna spoke), a marble chariot depicting Krishna and Arjuna, and a serene lake. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has declared Jyotisar a protected monument due to its historical and religious importance.

Pilgrims and tourists visit Jyotisar year-round to experience the spiritual atmosphere and learn about the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. The site also houses a museum showcasing artifacts related to the Mahabharata and the region's history. Jyotisar remains a focal point for promoting Hindu philosophy and cultural heritage.
