Livoberezhna (Kyiv Metro)
Livoberezhna (Лівобережна) is a station on the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line (Line 1) of the Kyiv Metro. It is located on the left bank (Ukrainian: livyi bereh) of the Dnieper River, giving the station its name, which translates to "Left Bank".
The station was opened on November 5, 1965, as part of the first stage of the Brovary Radius extension. Architecturally, Livoberezhna is a ground-level station with side platforms. The station is distinguished by its simple, functional design.
Livoberezhna is a significant transport hub, serving a large residential area and providing access to numerous buses, trolleybuses, and marshrutkas (minibuses). It is a heavily used station, especially during peak hours, due to the large number of commuters traveling to and from the left bank districts of Kyiv.
In anticipation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, held in Kyiv, the station underwent a renovation to improve its appearance and passenger flow. Further renovation work was completed in subsequent years to enhance accessibility and modernize the station's infrastructure.
Near the station is the International Exhibition Centre (IEC), a major venue for exhibitions, conferences, and events. Access to the IEC is a significant factor in the station's high passenger volume.
