Paul Scherrer (politician)
Paul Scherrer (born August 28, 1950) is a Swiss politician. He is a member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP).
Scherrer served on the National Council, the lower house of the Swiss Parliament, representing the Canton of Zurich. He was first elected in 2007 and served until 2015.
During his time in the National Council, Scherrer was primarily involved in issues related to security policy, agriculture, and transportation. He was known for his conservative stance on immigration and asylum policies. He also actively participated in debates regarding energy policy and environmental protection.
Prior to his national political career, Scherrer was involved in local and cantonal politics. He held various positions within the SVP at the cantonal level in Zurich.
