Martin Carey (hurler)

Martin Carey (born 1981) is an Irish hurler who plays for the Young Irelands club and formerly for the Kilkenny senior inter-county team.

Carey is a corner-forward known for his speed and goal-scoring ability. He first came to prominence at the club level with Young Irelands in Gowran, County Kilkenny. His performances there earned him a call-up to the Kilkenny senior hurling panel.

While he faced considerable competition for places in the Kilkenny forward line during a period of unprecedented success for the county, Carey did contribute to the team's achievements. He was part of the Kilkenny panel that won the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship in 2006. He also earned Leinster Senior Hurling Championship medals.

Carey is the brother of fellow Kilkenny hurlers D.J. Carey, Richie Carey, and Tommy Carey, and is considered part of a strong hurling family tradition in the Gowran area.
