Else Torp
Else Torp (1905-1993) was a Danish art historian, notable for her extensive research and publications on medieval art, particularly Romanesque mural paintings and stained glass in Danish churches. Torp’s scholarly work contributed significantly to the understanding of the development and iconography of medieval art in Denmark and its relationship to European artistic trends. Her meticulous documentation and analysis of often-overlooked church artworks have been invaluable to subsequent generations of art historians and conservators.
