Just One Look (miniseries)
Just One Look is a French television miniseries adaptation of Harlan Coben's 2004 novel of the same name. The series premiered in France in 2017 and stars Virginie Ledoyen as Eva Beaufils, the protagonist whose life is thrown into turmoil when she finds a photograph in a batch of family photos that she doesn't recognize. The photo features her husband, Bastien, as a young man, along with several other people she doesn't know. When Bastien disappears after she confronts him, Eva embarks on a desperate search to uncover the truth about his past and find him, unraveling a web of secrets, lies, and potential danger.
The miniseries typically consists of six episodes and maintains the suspenseful and thriller-based elements present in Coben's original novel. While based on the book, certain plot details and character arcs may differ in the adaptation. Its themes often revolve around family secrets, identity, past traumas, and the lengths people will go to protect those they love. The miniseries has been generally well-received for its suspenseful narrative and strong performances from the cast.
