Ron Allum

Ron Allum is an Australian engineer, inventor, and submersible designer. He is best known for his work on the Deepsea Challenger, the submersible piloted by James Cameron to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 2012. Allum was instrumental in the design and construction of the submersible, contributing significantly to its pressure-resistant sphere and other critical components. His expertise in materials science, particularly in the application of syntactic foam for buoyancy, was vital to the project's success.
