Little Mountain is a town in Newberry County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 291 at the 2010 census.
History:
Little Mountain was originally known as "Pomaria Crossing" due to its location at the intersection of several important roads and near the Pomaria Nursery. The town's growth was spurred by the arrival of the railroad in the mid-19th century. The name was changed to Little Mountain in 1886, reportedly due to the relatively small size of the nearby mountain, believed to be named Cook's Mountain.

Little Mountain is located in the Piedmont region of South Carolina. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2), all of it land. It is situated near Lake Murray.
