John Snell (American football)
John Snell is a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He was primarily known for his time with the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts.
Snell played college football at the University of Wisconsin. He was drafted by the Baltimore Colts in the third round of the 1982 NFL Draft. He spent the 1982 season on injured reserve.
With the Colts (who moved to Indianapolis in 1984), Snell served as a backup running back and special teams player. His most productive season was in 1985 when he rushed for 393 yards and one touchdown. He played with the Colts until 1988.
Following his NFL career, Snell played in the CFL for the Toronto Argonauts in 1989.
