Pat McGowan (footballer)

Pat McGowan (born in Glasgow) is a Scottish former professional footballer. McGowan played as a defender, primarily as a full-back.

McGowan began his professional career with Celtic in 1975. He did not make a first-team appearance for Celtic and moved to Dundee United in 1977. At Dundee United, he made a handful of first-team appearances before moving to St Mirren.

It was at St. Mirren where McGowan established himself as a regular first-team player. He played for the club for several seasons in the Scottish Premier Division.
