Norezai
Norezai (also spelled Norozai) is a Pashtun tribe primarily located in the southwestern region of Afghanistan, particularly in the provinces of Helmand and Nimruz, and across the border in Balochistan, Pakistan. They are a significant part of the Durrani Pashtun confederation and trace their lineage to the Zirak branch of the Durrani. The Norezai have historically played a prominent role in Afghan politics and society, and are known for their agricultural practices and tribal traditions. The tribe's influence has varied over time, often shifting based on regional power dynamics and alliances. Social structures within the Norezai tribe are based on kinship and lineage, with elders holding considerable authority. While traditionally nomadic or semi-nomadic, many Norezai have settled into more sedentary lifestyles centered around agriculture. Their culture is deeply rooted in Pashtunwali, the traditional Pashtun code of conduct, which emphasizes honor, hospitality, and justice.
