Pete (Disney)
Pete, also known as Peg-Leg Pete or Black Pete, is a Disney cartoon character created in 1925 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. He is a villainous anthropomorphic cat and is the oldest continuing Disney character. Pete is characterized by his large size, gruff voice, and antagonistic nature. He typically serves as the main antagonist to Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and other Disney characters.
Pete has appeared in numerous Disney animated shorts, feature films, television series, and comic books. He is recognizable by his distinctive features, including his missing left leg (often replaced with a wooden peg), his bulbous nose, and his black fur.
Over the years, Pete's role has varied. He is often depicted as a scheming criminal, a bully, or a generally unpleasant individual. Despite his villainous nature, Pete has also been portrayed in more comedic or sympathetic roles at times. He is a persistent foil for the heroes of the Disney universe and a significant character in the history of Disney animation. His presence usually signals trouble for Mickey and his friends, as he is always concocting some new scheme.
