Nissim Sharim

Nissim Sharim (born January 21, 1932) is a Chilean actor, theater director, academic, and political activist. He is primarily known for his extensive work in Chilean theater, both as a performer and a director, and for his involvement in political movements during the Pinochet regime. Sharim has been a prominent figure in the cultural landscape of Chile for several decades, contributing significantly to the development and preservation of Chilean theatrical arts. He has also held academic positions at various universities, teaching and mentoring aspiring actors and directors. Beyond his artistic and academic pursuits, Sharim is recognized for his outspoken advocacy for human rights and social justice, particularly during periods of political upheaval in Chile.
