Ned Marin

Ned Marin is a fictional character in the American animated television series The Simpsons. He is the father of Julio and Hugo Marin and known for his unwavering optimism, devout Christian faith, and excessively friendly demeanor, even towards those who are openly hostile or indifferent to him. He is a pharmacist and owns the Leftorium, a store specializing in products for left-handed people. He lives next door to the Simpson family and is often a source of frustration for Homer Simpson, who is frequently annoyed by Ned's seemingly perfect life and moral rectitude. Despite Homer's often-antagonistic behavior, Ned frequently displays genuine concern and compassion for the Simpson family. He is a widower, his wife Maude Flanders having died after being struck by a t-shirt fired from cheerleaders at a stock car race. He later remarries Edna Krabappel, a relationship which ends with her death. Ned's defining characteristics include his distinctive mustache, his catchphrases such as "Okily Dokily," and his dedication to living a life in accordance with his religious beliefs.
