Naval Headquarters (Pakistan)
Naval Headquarters (NHQ) is the principal command and control center of the Pakistan Navy. It is located in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan. NHQ is responsible for the formulation of naval policies, strategic planning, operational control, and administration of the Pakistan Navy.
The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), a four-star admiral, heads the Naval Headquarters and is the highest-ranking officer in the Pakistan Navy. The CNS is assisted by several Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) who oversee various branches and directorates within NHQ. These branches typically include operations, personnel, logistics, training, and hydrography, among others.
NHQ serves as the central coordinating body for all naval activities, including maritime security operations, fleet deployments, exercises, and procurement programs. It also plays a crucial role in maintaining liaison with other branches of the Pakistan Armed Forces, as well as with international naval organizations. The headquarters is responsible for translating national security objectives into actionable naval strategies and ensuring the effective execution of these strategies.
