Perth and Kinross (UK Parliament constituency)

Perth and Kinross is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post system of election. The constituency was created for the 2005 general election, largely replacing the former constituency of Perth and North Perthshire. It covers the majority of the Perth and Kinross council area, excluding the northernmost portion which is within the Highland Perthshire constituency.

The constituency is generally considered a marginal seat, having been held by both the Scottish National Party (SNP) and the Conservative Party in recent elections. Prior to its creation, its predecessor seats were also politically diverse, swinging between different parties over time.

The boundaries of the constituency are defined by the Boundary Commission for Scotland, taking into account local government ward boundaries. Electoral demographics within Perth and Kinross are varied, encompassing both urban areas (like the city of Perth) and rural communities, influencing the political priorities and concerns of voters.

Key areas within the constituency include: Perth, Kinross, Auchterarder, and Scone.
