75 Cancri
75 Cancri is a star located in the constellation Cancer. It is a yellow giant star of spectral type G5III. 75 Cancri is visible to the naked eye under favorable conditions as it has an apparent visual magnitude of approximately 5.95.
The star is located at an estimated distance of approximately 400 light-years from Earth. Its mass is estimated to be about 2.5 times that of the Sun, and its radius is about 11 times the Sun's radius. 75 Cancri is significantly more luminous than the Sun, radiating about 60 times more energy.
As a giant star, 75 Cancri has evolved off the main sequence, having exhausted the hydrogen fuel in its core and begun fusing helium. Its outer layers have expanded and cooled, giving it its yellow hue and larger size. Further evolution is expected to lead to it becoming a red giant and eventually shedding its outer layers to form a planetary nebula, leaving behind a white dwarf remnant.
75 Cancri is not known to have any orbiting planets or other companion stars. It is catalogued in various star catalogues under designations such as HD 74228 and HR 3453.
