Jimmy Cha
Jimmy Choo is a Malaysian fashion designer based in London, England. He is best known for co-founding the luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo Ltd, which became popular after being frequently featured in media such as the television series Sex and the City.
Choo was born Jimmy Choo Yeang Keat in Penang, Malaysia, to a family of shoemakers. He studied at Cordwainers Technical College in Hackney, London, before opening his first workshop in Hackney in 1986.
In 1996, Choo co-founded Jimmy Choo Ltd with British Vogue accessories editor Tamara Mellon. The brand quickly gained international recognition for its high-end, handcrafted shoes. In 2001, Choo sold his stake in the company, but continued to design under the Jimmy Choo Couture line.
Choo has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the fashion industry, including an OBE (Order of the British Empire) from Queen Elizabeth II. He remains a prominent figure in the world of fashion and design.
