HMAS Geraldton (FCPB 213)
HMAS Geraldton (FCPB 213) is a Cape-class patrol boat of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Named for the city of Geraldton, Western Australia, she is the second of eight Cape-class patrol boats to enter service.
Constructed by Austal in Henderson, Western Australia, Geraldton was launched in July 2016 and commissioned into the RAN on 23 March 2017.
The primary role of HMAS Geraldton is border protection, maritime security, and fisheries protection operations. She is designed to have greater range and endurance than the preceding Fremantle-class patrol boats, allowing her to operate further offshore and for longer periods. The ship is equipped with advanced radar and communications systems.
Geraldton operates as part of the Australian Border Force fleet and regularly conducts patrols in Australia's northern waters. She is homeported at HMAS Cairns in Cairns, Queensland.
