Stormont (Province of Canada electoral district)

Stormont was an electoral district in the Province of Canada, encompassing the historic county of Stormont in present-day Ontario. It was used for elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada. The district existed from 1841 until Canadian Confederation in 1867. Prior to 1841, the area was represented in the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada. Upon Confederation, the electoral district was replaced by the electoral district of the same name in the House of Commons of Canada and South Stormont in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The political leanings of the representatives from Stormont during this period varied.
