Secu (Neamț)

Secu is a Romanian commune located in Neamț County, in the historical region of Moldavia, Romania. It is situated in the eastern part of the country. The commune is composed of two villages: Secu and Bătrâna.

The commune is known primarily for the Secu Monastery (Mănăstirea Secu), a significant Romanian Orthodox monastery. The monastery was founded in the 16th century and is an important pilgrimage site. It houses valuable religious artifacts and icons and features notable architecture characteristic of Moldavian monastic structures.

The economy of Secu commune is largely based on agriculture and forestry. Tourism also plays a role, driven by the presence of the Secu Monastery.
