Ploiești
Ploiești is a city and municipality in Romania, situated in the Prahova County, in the historical region of Wallachia. As of 2021, the city had a population of approximately 192,527, making it the ninth most populous city in Romania.
Ploiești is located 56 km (35 mi) north of Bucharest, the capital of Romania, and is an important transportation hub, connecting Bucharest with the rest of the country and with various European destinations. The city is also a major industrial center, particularly for the petroleum industry.
History:
The first documentary evidence of Ploiești dates back to 1596, during the reign of Michael the Brave.
