National Space Centre (Malaysia)

The National Space Centre (Malaysia), also known as Agensi Angkasa Malaysia (MYSA), is the national space agency of Malaysia. It is the primary government agency responsible for space-related activities, research, and development in the country. MYSA's mission encompasses promoting the use of space technology for socioeconomic development, ensuring national security, and fostering public awareness and education in space science.

Established in 2002, the National Space Centre replaced its predecessor agency, the Malaysian Centre for Remote Sensing (MACRES). Its functions include developing and implementing national space policies and strategies, overseeing the Malaysian space program, and collaborating with international space agencies and organizations.

MYSA's areas of focus include remote sensing, satellite communication, space science, and technology development. The agency operates facilities for satellite ground station operations, data processing, and space research. Through various programs, the National Space Centre aims to enhance Malaysia's capabilities in space technology and contribute to advancements in areas such as disaster management, environmental monitoring, and resource management.
