Trenhotel
A Trenhotel was a type of overnight long-distance passenger train service that operated in Spain, Portugal, and Italy. These trains were designed to offer comfortable sleeping accommodation for passengers travelling between cities, allowing them to sleep during the journey and arrive at their destination in the morning. Trenhotel services typically offered a range of sleeping options, from tourist class compartments with bunk beds to upgraded "Gran Clase" compartments with private bathrooms. Amenities often included onboard dining cars or buffet services, as well as other facilities designed to enhance the travel experience. The service was discontinued in stages, with the final Trenhotel service ceasing operation in 2020. They were often marketed as a comfortable and time-efficient alternative to flying or driving.
