Mohammed Habib (footballer)
Mohammed Habib (born July 17, 1945, died August 15, 2020) was an Indian footballer who played as a forward. He was a prominent figure in Indian football during the 1960s and 1970s, often regarded as one of the country's finest players.
Habib was known for his dribbling skills, passing ability, and goal-scoring prowess. He played for several prominent Indian clubs, including East Bengal Club, Mohun Bagan Athletic Club, and Mohammedan Sporting Club. He enjoyed considerable success with all three Kolkata giants.
At the international level, Habib represented India in numerous tournaments, including the Asian Games. He was a member of the Indian team that won a bronze medal at the 1970 Asian Games in Bangkok. He also captained the Indian national team.
After retiring from professional football, Habib remained involved in the sport as a coach and mentor. He is remembered as a legendary figure in Indian football history.
