Mike Martin (baseball coach)

Mike Martin Sr. (born December 10, 1944) is a retired American college baseball coach. He was the head coach of the Florida State Seminoles baseball team from 1980 to 2019.

Martin is the all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division I baseball history, retiring with a record of 2,029–736–4. He led the Seminoles to 17 College World Series appearances, though never won a national championship. His teams won 19 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular season titles and 12 ACC Tournament titles.

Prior to becoming head coach, Martin served as an assistant coach at Florida State from 1975 to 1979. He played college baseball at Florida State as an infielder, from 1965 to 1967.

Martin is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Hall of Fame. His jersey number, 11, is retired by Florida State University. His son, Mike Martin Jr., succeeded him as the head coach of the Seminoles baseball team in 2020.
