Rollieria
Rollieria is an extinct genus of trilobites belonging to the order Asaphida. Fossils of Rollieria have been found in rocks dating to the Ordovician period. The genus is characterized by a distinct morphology of the cephalon (head shield) and pygidium (tail shield), often featuring a smooth or subtly ornamented surface. Rollieria species are identified through detailed examination of the cephalic and pygidial features, including the glabella, facial sutures, and pleural furrows. The exact phylogenetic relationships of Rollieria within the Asaphida are still subject to ongoing research. The geographical distribution of Rollieria fossils provides valuable information for understanding the paleogeography and paleoecology of the Ordovician period.
