Atempan
Atempan is a municipality located in the northeastern part of the Mexican state of Puebla. It is situated in the Sierra Norte region, also known as the Northern Highlands of Puebla. The municipality is characterized by its rugged terrain, abundant vegetation, and indigenous culture.
The name "Atempan" is derived from the Nahuatl language, meaning "on the edge of the water" or "on the bank of the water." This likely refers to the numerous rivers and streams that run through the area.
