Lu'ayy

Lu'ayy (Arabic: لؤي) is the name of an ancestor of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He is considered to be in the lineage connecting Muhammad to Adnan, who is traditionally considered a descendant of the prophet Ishmael (Ismail). Lu'ayy ibn Ghalib ibn Fihr (Quraysh) is typically placed several generations before Muhammad.
