Pete York
Pete York (born Peter York, August 13, 1942, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England) is an English jazz and blues drummer and percussionist. He is best known for his work with the Spencer Davis Group in the 1960s, contributing to hits such as "Gimme Some Lovin'," "I'm a Man," and "Keep On Running."
Following his departure from the Spencer Davis Group in 1969, York embarked on a successful career as a session musician and bandleader. He has collaborated with numerous notable artists including Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, Hardin & York (with Eddie Hardin), Klaus Doldinger's Passport, and many others. He formed Pete York's New Blues Syndicate in the 1990s, a band that continues to perform.
York is also known for his television work, notably the German music series Villa Fantastica. Throughout his career, York has demonstrated versatility and a deep understanding of various musical styles, cementing his reputation as a respected and influential figure in the world of drumming. He remains active in performing and recording.
