Llangaffo
Llangaffo is a village and community in Anglesey, Wales. It is located in the south-western part of the island, approximately 5 miles (8 km) east of the county town of Llangefni.
The name Llangaffo derives from the Welsh llan (meaning "church" or "enclosure") and Caffo, a personal name. Caffo is believed to have been a 6th-century saint. Therefore, Llangaffo translates roughly to "the church of Caffo."
The village is relatively small and rural, characterized by agricultural land and scattered housing. The parish church, dedicated to St. Caffo, is a notable landmark.
Historically, Llangaffo has been an agricultural community. The surrounding land is used primarily for farming, particularly sheep and cattle rearing. More recently, tourism has become a supplementary source of income for some residents.
The community of Llangaffo includes several smaller settlements and rural areas beyond the immediate village. It is governed at the local level by a community council.
