Line 9 (Shanghai Metro)

Line 9 is a rapid transit line of the Shanghai Metro. It is a southwest–northeast line running from Songjiang South Railway Station in Songjiang District to Caolu in Pudong New Area. The line is primarily underground but has some elevated sections, particularly in its western segment. Line 9 is known for connecting several important areas, including Songjiang University Town, Xujiahui commercial area, and Jinqiao Export Processing Zone.

Construction of Line 9 began in 2005, and the first section opened in December 2007. Subsequent extensions have expanded the line significantly, connecting it to more distant suburbs and key transportation hubs.
