Mahabadi

Mahabadi is a city located in West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. It is situated in a fertile plain south of Lake Urmia and is known for its agricultural production, particularly apples and grapes. Historically, the city has been a center for Kurdish culture and has a significant Kurdish-speaking population. Mahabadi is the capital of Mahabad County and is connected to other major cities in the region by road. The city has a number of historical sites, including the Tomb of Sayed Buraheh, and serves as a commercial hub for the surrounding agricultural area. Its economy also includes trade and small industries. The city's name translates roughly to "City of Moonlight."
