Hakahau

Hakahau is the principal village and commune of the island of Ua Huka, part of the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia. Located on the south coast of the island, it is the administrative center and contains the main harbor. Hakahau serves as the primary point of entry for visitors and supplies arriving by sea.

The village's economy is largely based on agriculture, fishing, and tourism. Copra production, derived from coconuts, is a traditional industry, although its importance has declined over time.
