Jim Campbell (catcher)

James "Jim" Campbell (born December 22, 1947) is a former professional baseball catcher. He played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1970 and the Houston Astros in 1973.

Campbell was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1st round (14th overall) of the 1966 MLB January Draft-Regular Phase from James Madison High School in San Diego, California. He made his major league debut with the Cardinals on April 10, 1970.

After a brief stint with the Cardinals, he was traded to the Houston Astros where he played for the 1973 season. He finished his MLB career with a .143 batting average in 14 at-bats.
